Tarrant County Master Gardener Association
Durham Intermediate School OLE

Durham Intermediate School was officially recognized as a Master Gardener project in 2012. The garden has a large array of perennials, shrubs, climbing vines, and several raised beds for student gardening.

In 2016 the garden was awarded first place in the state for its research project on potato planting, harvesting and preparation by the Texas Master Gardener’s Association. This garden is certified as a Monarch Way station and a Wildlife Natural Habitat. In addition we have hosted several Eagle Scout projects. We have had a TCMGA intern project in our garden for five years running.

In addition we have a Junior Master Gardener program including the fifth grade science classes that graduates about 300+ Junior Master Gardeners each year.

This project always welcomes new volunteers!
