The Japanese Garden in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is beautiful! This garden provides a peaceful and serene place to volunteer. Three volunteer opportunities are available:


Garden Volunteer

The garden volunteers at the Japanese Garden have the opportunity to work with and learn from Head Gardener Nick Esthus. Tasks include but are not limited to weeding, raking, planting and pruning.

Docent Volunteer

The docent volunteers at the Japanese Garden have the opportunity to give tours to a variety of guests including children and adults. During tours docents discuss design elements and history of the garden and introduce guests to the wonderful plants and animals who call the garden home. Scheduling is flexible and comprehensive training is provided.

Ambassador Volunteer

The ambassador volunteers at the japanese Garden have the opportunity to meet and assist a variety of guests in the JG. Ambassadors are present in the Japanese Garden seven days a week. Two-hour shifts are requested. Scheduling is flexible and training is provided.
