Daffodil Ice Follies ( 10 bulbs/set)

Narcissus ‘Ice Follies’ is a spectacular Konijnenburg & Mark variety introduced in 1963. This award-winner is a popular large 4" cupped daffodil with icy-white petals surrounding a flat, frilled, chartreuse-yellow crown that turns white as it matures. It is a terrific naturalizer as well as a good forcer.

'Ice Follies' daffodils bloom early to mid-spring (March to April) and thrive in full sun to part shade in well-draining soil. It multiplies quickly and is highly resistant to deer and rabbits. Excellent for borders, mass plantings, and cut flower arrangements.

Plant these bulbs in November to December to avoid premature warm-weather growth. Choose a location with full sun to part shade. Dig a hole so that there is at least three inches of soil over the top of the bulb (6 to 8 inches deep). Space bulbs 4 to 5 inches apart in clusters of 5 to 7 rather than straight rows for a more natural, massed effect. Water thoroughly after planting. While dormant in the summer, they tolerate dry conditions but require regular moisture in the spring as the roots develop and stems emerge. After blooming concludes, remove the dead flowers to prevent seed formation, but do not cut the green foliage. Allow the leaves to die back naturally, as they feed the bulb for the following spring.
